Live Music: Meisha Herron

July 18 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Experience a NEW musician to Doukenie Winery, Meisha Herron on July 18th from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. Meisha was featured as an opening act at the Shenandoah Valley Music Fest at Orkney Springs Virginia for the Four Tops, Spinners, Don McLean and Mavis Staples (’24) and the Belle Grove Music festivals (Middletown, VA) two years in a row. She will also perform at various Town sponsored events (Leesburg Flower & Garden Show ’24-’26; First Fridays Winchester) in the region. She opened for Buddy Guy in 2023 at his club “Legends” in Chicago. Meeting him was a highlight and an inspiration for her to “focus”, “take care of ones’ self” and to “keep the blues alive” despite life’s struggles.
Her specialty are performances when she can deliver songs and make them her own. If you get a chance, you should check out her live performance when she’s in your area! She blends elements is folk, jazz, r&b, blues and more to give the listener a great live music experience.

Herron also has a folk-jazz-soul duo or trio featuring Meisha’s voice and guitar and Bryan Coberly on cajon and sometimes they add a bass player. They are skilled at playing at a volume that suits most tasting rooms at vineyards. They play a great variety of music from different genres (American Roots, earthy-blues, 70’s – 90’s rock, pop and some originals). They are professional musicians who know how to read a crowd and many people are beginning to take notice of their unique “sound”. Some of the artists they cover are Aretha, Van Morrison, Tracy Chapman, 50’s -60’s Chicago blues (Muddy & more), Amy Winehouse, Fleetwood Mac, Bonnie Raitt, just to name a few. If the venue prefers to fill out the sound for outdoor occasions, they can go with their pro gear to boost up the sound.
Meisha has performed with notable artists, such as Nicole Mitchell (World renowned jazz flutist), Tomeka Reid (Cellist), Bruce Mak, Emory Williams, Lovie Lee, Jimmy Burns, Shirley King (BB King’s daughter), Sheryl Youngblood (Delmark Record Recording Artist), Diane Ellis (Sax) and more!
